Spearin, Preston & Burrows wins NY/NJ Port Authority Work

Spearin, Preston, & Burrows, Modern Continental's marine construction firm, has won a $29 million contract with the NY/NJ Port Authority to perform a seismic retrofit on the Bayonne Bridge in Bayonne, NJ. Crews will be stripping concrete from the abutments of the 70-year-old bridge to drill holes for the installation of tension rods and anchors. New concrete will be poured after the bridge is fortified, making it resistant to damage during potential earthquakes that may occur in the area.
