Modern takes its SHARE of awards
In keeping with the company’s longstanding commitment to a safe work environment, Modern Continental earned a Gold Award, two Silver Awards, and a Bronze Award in the Mass Turnpike Authority’s most recent round of SHARE (Safety and Health Award for Recognized Excellence) program distributions for the Central Artery/Tunnel Project. The amounts of these awards, which were based on the January-to-June period of 2002, totaled just over $82,000.
The Gold Award went to the C09C2 job, while C17A9 and C09B2 earned Silver Awards. C19E1 was recognized with a Bronze Award. The program, in effect since 1997, has been a significant factor in the Big Dig’s low incident rate, which remains at about 50% of the national industry average.
