Sao Paulo Brazil Light Rail Project Nears Completion

MCC is now in the final stages of its major light rail job in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the CPTM. This joint-venture project began in January 2001 and required direct fixation (DF) track construction on an elevated structure. The DF trackwork was incorporated into a pre-cast concrete floating slab attached to the deck of the transitway elevated structure. The light rail work included 29 turnouts; 1,500 tons of rail; rail lubrication; drainage; acoustical barriers; and shock absorbers.
