More Recent Jobs Awarded
Modern's Microtunneling division has recently won microtunneling jobs in Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles, CA, respectively.

The Atlanta job, which is being performed for the City of Atlanta, involves MTBM and conventional tunneling for the installation of new sanitary sewer mains. The value of the contract is $13.5 million.

The California job, which is being done for the County of Los Angeles, is valued at $12.2 million. This job involves MTBM tunneling, open trench excavation, and mechanical and electrical systems with the construction of a Water Microfiltration Plant.

In its annual listing of Leading Microtunneling Contractors in 2001, Tunnel Business Magazine ranked Modern Continental's microtunneling unit in the top spot. According to information compiled by TBM, a total of 73,380 lf of microtunneling was completed in 2001. This survey accounts for contracts that were completed during the calendar year. A total of 13 different contractors completed projects in 2001, with another six currently engaged in microtunneling.
