Top 300 Federal Highway Contractors
Transportation Builder Magazine recently published its ranking of the Top 300 Federal Highway Contractors, and Modern Continental Construction has taken the #2 spot for 2001. The magazine's ranking is derived from the Federal Highway Administration's data on federal-aid contract awards between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2001.

  • Modern’s Bob Shepard has been honored with the Builders Association of Greater Boston’s (BAGB) "Builder of the Year" award for his work in 2001.

  • Modern Continental was recently cited in Boston Magazine as one of the top places to work in the city. The article highlighted Modern's competitive benefits including employer paid medical insurance, health club facilities and tuition reimbursment plans.

  • The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recently recognized Modern Continental South with a safety award in the Heavy/Industrial Division. This award was earned through a 16-month period where MC South had zero lost-time injuries.

  • The World Safety Organization recognized Modern as the Most Improved Contractor during 1998.

  • Modern received The Massachusetts Safety Council (Group Safety Award) for the I-90/I-93 interchange project.

  • A safety award was presented to Paul Revere Transportation for transporting 3 million passengers without injury to the Deer Island work site.

  • Trenchless Technology magazine named Modern's St. James Ave. Interceptor project as its 1996 Project of The Year.

  • Modern received the Construction Innovation Forum (CIF) Nova Award for Innovative Solution for its roof casting system, Bird Island Flats Tunnel.

  • We received the International Masonry Institute's Design Award for Back Bay Station.
